Club Rules and Regulations:

A. RESERVATIONS & COURT USAGE
All Reservations for the use of the tennis courts (including pickle ball) are to be made
through the Tennis Desk and court time may be booked for one and one-half (1 ½) hours
(doubles or singles) on a first-come, first-served basis without distinction between Tennis
Club Members, Resort Timeshare Owners and Guests. Reservations may be booked up to
seven days in advance by telephone (760-318-1716), or in person beginning at 7:00am in
the Pro Shop. Reservations may also be made by texting (760-902-0716); however, text
reservations will not be honored until after the 7:00am call-ins and walk-ins. Reservations
may be for individual players or groups of two, three or four. You must have at least two
players to reserve a court when making the reservation. Doubles play shall have priority
over singles play and ball machines.
The Tennis Desk has the prerogative to arrange and rearrange the court assignments
continuously to optimize court usage and traVic; therefore, special court assignments will
NOT be guaranteed. Also, the Tennis Desk cannot guarantee playing more than once during
peak hours when demand is high with Members/Timeshares requesting to play. This helps
accommodate as many players as possible. The Tennis Coordinators have the sole
discretion to determine who plays with whom. The Tennis Desk is managed by the Director
of Tennis along with the Head Tennis Coordinator.
B. MEMBERSHIPS
Annual Full Season Memberships (October 1 – September 30) are available as follows:
INITIATION FEE $ 1,000.00 (one time only)
SINGLE $ 1,600.00 per year *
FAMILY $ 2,000.00 per year *
FAMILY+ ** (additional adult (18+) family member) $ 1,085.00 additional per person per
year
SOCIAL $1,235
SUMMER (June 1 through September 30) $ 400.00 per summer ****
Former members wishing to return shall not pay a new initiation fee if rejoining within two
years.
** May add an additional adult family member (18 years and older) to a family membership
(immediate family only: parent, child, sibling, grandparent, or grandchild).
*** May be applied to initiation fee if converted to annual membership.
A Member has an annual revocable license to use the Club facilities* and Club services in
accordance with these Club rules and regulations.
Single Memberships entitle only the Member to use of the Club facilities*.
Family Memberships are for 2 adult people and their children under the age of 18. “Family
Member” Children under the age of 18 can play at the discretion of the Head Tennis
Coordinator when accompanied by an adult member if their playing does not preclude a
Member/Timeshare from playing. The definition of a Family Membership includes and
allows either both spouses, significant others/partners, or 2 immediate adult family
members (such as a man and his adult child, a woman and either one of her parents, a
man and his brother or sister, or a woman and her adult grandchild or either one of her
grandparents), and all unmarried dependent children under the age of eighteen (18) who
are full-time students, to use the Club facilities*.
Family Plus Membership members make full use of the Club facilities* and services (the
same as regular Members).
Social Memberships do not include playing privileges but do include use of the fitness
center, adult pool, and Club events/activities (other than playing).
Any Member who has not renewed his membership prior to November 1 of any year may
have his place filled from the waiting list. The Tennis Club Owners Association reserves the
right not to renew memberships in its sole discretion. All decisions of the Tennis Club
Owners Association concerning membership shall be final. A membership is not
transferable or assignable. Other than the summer membership, there are no partial-year
or monthly memberships.
C. GUEST POLICY
1. Each guest of any Member/Timeshare will be allowed to play five (5) times per season at
the rate of $20 per person, per day. The guest of the Member/Timeshare must play with that
Member/Timeshare. Each Member/Timeshare will be allowed to have only one (1) guest in
any 24-hour period. Family Membership members will be treated as having two individual
memberships for this purpose. However, if both Family Membership members have guests
playing, each of the two Family Membership members will be required to be on the court
with each of the two guests.
2. Guests must be approved by the Tennis Desk prior to playing and must register upon
arrival. A Guest Register shall be kept at the Tennis Desk with all fees having to be paid prior
to playing.
3. Non-members called in by the Tennis Desk to fill in games with Members/Timeshares
may be charged $10 per person, per day, and fees may be paid by either the
Members/Timeshares or the guest(s). However, this practice will be limited and will be at
the discretion of the Owners Association and Tennis Desk. Fees may be waived at the
discretion of the Tennis Desk for the following reasons: a) We are unable to fill a match
(primarily oV season). b) The guest is someone who has expressed interest in joining the
club (one time).
4. Guests must comply with all Rules & Regulations of the Club.
5. All Members not adhering to these rules may be subject to suspension or termination at
the discretion of the, Director of Tennis, Head Tennis Coordinator, or Palm Springs Tennis
Club Owners Association (PSTCOA) Director of Players Liaison.
D. DRESS CODE
All tennis and pickle ball players, including children, are required to wear apparel designed
and sold specifically for the purpose of playing tennis. This includes:
1. Only tennis shoes made specifically for the purpose of playing tennis are allowed.
Running shoes are NOT allowed on courts at any time. Soft-soled shoes and other shoes
not specifically designed for tennis damage the courts and are prohibited.
2. Men shall wear tennis shirts that have collars or “athletic” shirts that include the logo of
an athletic manufacturer or tennis organization. Tennis shorts must be made for tennis. No
sweat shorts, cut-oVs, bathing suits, jogging attire, or workout clothes will be allowed.
3. Ladies shall wear tennis dresses, tennis shorts or skirts with “made for tennis” tops that
include the logo of a tennis manufacturer or tennis organization, and tennis shoes as
stated in Number 1 above. No halters, sweat shorts, denim shorts, cutoVs, bathing suits,
jogging attire, or workout clothes will be allowed.
4. Shirts must be worn at all times.
5. Players with non-conforming attire will not be allowed to play until proper attire is worn.
If unsure, please check with the Tennis desk staV prior to playing. The StaV will interpret
and enforce the dress code, and their decision is final.
6. Appropriate attire must be worn in the fitness center; shoes and shirts are required.
E. CONDUCT AND ETIQUETTE
Members/Timeshares and all players shall act in a courteous and professional manner
toward other Members, Timeshares, guests, and StaV at all times.
Proper tennis etiquette and conduct is required of all players using the tennis and
pickleball courts. Players are expected to be punctual for their matches. Loud, boisterous,
or profane language, both on and oV the courts, is strictly prohibited. Mistreatment or
abuse of tennis courts, facilities, or equipment is strictly prohibited. Purposefully striking
nets with racquets or intentionally hitting balls into windscreen curtains or walls to practice
serves or strokes are strictly prohibited.
No activities shall be sponsored, conducted, or permitted in the areas adjacent to all
courts other than those that are incidental to the normal intended use of tennis courts and
facilities. Failure to comply with these rules may result in removal from the premises and/or
suspension or revocation of membership.
F. TENNIS LESSONS
Tennis and pickle ball lessons with Tennis Club Instructors for Members/Timeshares (and
non-Members) may be booked directly with the instructors. As with regular court use,
guests are only allowed to take lessons if Member/Timeshare makes reservation and is on
the court taking lesson at the same time.
No one may conduct any lessons of any kind on tennis courts without the prior written
consent of the Director of Tennis, Head Tennis Coordinator, or the Player Liaison
representative of the PSTCOA.
G. CHILDREN
Children shall be under the direct supervision of an Adult while playing on the courts. Non-
playing children, babies in strollers, etc. are not allowed on the tennis courts at any time.
H. TOURNAMENTS AND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Director of Tennis shall determine the format and scheduling of Tournaments and Club
Championships. Only Tennis Members and Timeshare Owner Members may participate in
Club Championships. Timeshare Owner Members shall not be excluded from eligibility for
Club Championship Tournaments because they are not in residence at the Palm Springs
Tennis Club Resort during part or all the period for which, or over which, the tournament is
scheduled.
I. PETS
No pets or animals of any kind will be allowed on the tennis courts at any time. Dogs will be
allowed on the patio walkway running along courts 1, 4, 7, 10, and 11; and must be
leashed. However, dogs are restricted from the pool, spa, and fitness facilities. The
behavioral code for dogs is the same as for Members/Timeshares. Their conduct cannot
unreasonably interfere with the enjoyment of the Club by any Member/Timeshare. This
includes excessive barking or unruly behavior of any type.
J. DELINQUENCIES
Members who have been notified of any delinquency in the payment of regular Club
membership dues and/or guest fees shall be subject to suspension of their Club
membership privileges until all delinquencies are brought current. Members who have their
memberships suspended shall not be entitled to any refund for the period of suspension
and shall be eligible for membership reinstatement for the remaining portion of the
respective season once all delinquencies have been remedied.
K. SOLICITATIONS
No guests or Members/Timeshares may make any solicitations whatsoever on the
premises of the Tennis Club. Any breach of this provision shall be grounds for suspension
or revocation of membership.
L. SUSPENSION/REVOCATION OF MEMBERSHIP
The rights and interests of the Club supersede the rights of an individual Member. The Club
has the right to make its own rules that then must be observed by all Members. Should a
conflict arise between the rights of a member and the rights and best interests of the Club,
the rights and best interests of the Club must prevail. A membership may be terminated by
the Director of Tennis, Head Tennis Coordinator or Player Liaison representative of the
PSTCOA’s determination that a Member is incompatible with or disagreeable with the other
Members; or has engaged in a conduct, which in his/her opinion, is reasonably calculated
to endanger the welfare, interest, or character of the Club; or for any conduct in material
violation of the Club rules and regulations.
The Owners Association reserves the right to revoke or suspend the membership of any
Member in the event of the violation of any of the rules of conduct and etiquette or non-
solicitation provisions set forth above, or for any conduct which is detrimental to the Tennis
Club and its Members. The determination of the Director of Tennis, Head Tennis
Coordinator, or Player Liaison representative of the PSTCOA regarding suspension or
revocation shall be final and not subject to appeal. In the event of a suspension, there shall
be no refund of dues during the period of suspension. In the event of revocation of
membership, there shall be a pro-rata refund of the annual membership dues.
Members who are suspended may elect to withdraw their membership and obtain a pro-
rata refund of their membership dues.
Any Member whose membership is revoked or suspended (except for nonpayment of dues)
shall not have the right during the revocation or suspension to be at the Club or use the
Club’s facilities, whether as a Full-Season Member, Timeshare Owner Member, guest of a
Member/Timeshare, or Timeshare Owner, Resort guest, or otherwise. The only exception to
this rule is that a Timeshare Owner Member whose membership as a Full-Season Member
has been revoked or suspended may nevertheless thereafter be at the Club and use the
Club’s tennis courts and facilities while in residence as a Timeshare Owner during Owner
entitlement use time (and no other time) if he or she first obtains the approval for such use
from the Timeshare Owners’ Association Board and fully complies with these Rules and
Regulations and any requirements set forth by such Board in connection with granting such
approval.
Director of Tennis, Head Tennis Coordinator, or Player Liaison representative of the
PSTCOA, in their sole discretion but after consultation with professional staV, reserves the
right to recall and thereby terminate, upon written notice, any membership or all
memberships within one or more membership classifications at any time, with or without
cause, without giving any reason.
M. ADDITIONAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. The Tennis Facility, viewing areas, and the patio area at Spencer’s Restaurant are smoke-
free environments. All tennis courts and surrounding area (inclusive of Courts 10 and 11)
are also considered smoke-free areas.
2. Director of Tennis, Head Tennis Coordinator, or Player Liaison representative of the
PSTCOA may make and post additional rules and regulations governing reservations for or
the allocation of playing time, prescribing standards of dress or conduct for players using
the courts or limiting the use of courts by children or guests. All people using the
recreational facilities of the Tennis Club must comply with these additional rules and
regulations.
N. VOLUNTEERS AND SELF-DIRECTED WORK TEAMS
The rules and regulations of the Club are designed to protect the special character of the
Club as a friendly, serene, and safe environment. The management of the Club by the
PSTCOA encourages the spirit of volunteerism to help preserve the character and
experiential environment of the Club. Self-directed work teams, comprised of volunteers
and, with the direction of Club StaV, are key factors in the success of the Club. It is the
Club’s policy that Committees need approval of the Director of Tennis, Head Tennis
Coordinator, or Player Liaison representative of the PSTCOA.

Remember, in Palm Springs it is unlawful to leave a pet in a car: Palm Springs Municipal Code, Title 10 ANIMALS, Chapter 10.22 UNATTENDED ANIMALS IN ENCLOSED VEHICLES ** 10.22.020 Violation *

* "It is unlawful for any person to leave, unattended, any animal within an enclosed vehicle. (Ord. 1308 § 3, 1988)"
** ""Enclosed vehicle" means a vehicle with structure on top and all sides. An enclosed vehicle with open windows or doors shall be deemed enclosed for purposes of this chapter."

BALL MACHINES

May be scheduled for one hour or half-hour at the Tennis Desk, and may be used only when courts are available, and using them does not preclude people from playing matches or taking lessons. This usually means that, in-season, when morning courts are full of matches, the use of the ball machine is restricted to before and after prime match time.

PICKLE BALL

We have two pickle ball courts (shared with tennis) on Court 11 and all court times must be scheduled.

Players: Only PSTC Time Shares staying at the hotel or PSTC Tennis Club Members may make reservations and must be playing during the session. Guests are welcome under the reservation time.
Court Availability: Court 11 is used for both tennis and pickleball. Because of the noise involved, pickle ball will not be available until 10:30am, even if tennis players are not playing on the courts. Courts 10 & 11 will remain locked at all times when the courts are not reserved and in use. Please contact the hotel front desk or tennis desk/pro shop with questions.
Reservations: All Pickle Ball court times are reserved through the tennis desk (760-902-0716 (text), 760-318-1716 (phone), or in person).
Nets: Are on the courts and should be put back along the fence of the tennis court after play.
Paddles and Balls: The resort desk has paddles and balls that can be loaned for use.

FITNESS CENTER

The Fitness Center is open 7am-10pm, seven days a week.
The Fitness Center is open to all members 16 years of age and older for open training, unless a scheduled class is in operation.
All Members must sign a one-time release of liability waiver prior to undertaking any form of exercise.
The Fitness Center is open to all Palm Springs Tennis Club Members and Resort Guests.
All Members using the exercise equipment do so at their own risk.
Members are asked to wipe down all equipment following use. Members are asked to replace all equipment to where they found it.
To prevent injuries, any malfunctioning exercise equipment should be reported to Management immediately.
Members/Guests abusing or breaking any of the equipment or marking walls or floors will be liable for repair or replacement of damaged property.
The Fitness Center is a smoke-free environment.
PSTC Annual Members are to sign out a key to use the Fitness Center from the Tennis Desk. The key will be registered in the Member's name and the Member will retain the key to facilitate his/her use of the Fitness Center. Please be sure that the door locks behind you when you leave the facility. Resort Guests use their room key to access the Fitness Center.
Outside music or equipment is not allowed.
No alcoholic beverages are permitted in the Fitness Center.
The Fitness Center is not responsible for valuables and other personal articles that are brought or left on the premises of the Fitness Center. Members using the facility should not leave valuables and other personal articles on the premises unattended.
Appropriate exercise attire must be worn at all times. Shirts and shoes must be worn in the Fitness Center. Sandals and canvas shoes are prohibited. No bathing suits are allowed.
Only designated trainers, approved by the PSTC Resort, are allowed to offer personal training at the Fitness Center.
All personal training is by appointment only.
The maximum time allowed on the cardiovascular equipment is twenty (20) minutes if people are waiting to use them.

SWIMMING POOL & SPA

The pool and spa are open from 8:00am- 9:00pm, seven days a week.
No children under the age of 18 years of age may be in or around the pool or spa area.
No dogs or pets allowed in the pool or spa area.
The pool and spa are open to all Palm Springs Tennis Club Members only and to PSTC Hotel guests.
The pool and spa area is a smoke-free environment.
No amplified music allowed. Please use headphones.
All Members using the swimming pool must abide by the rules posted in the swimming pool area.
Diving is not allowed under any circumstances.
Glass containers are not allowed at poolside.
The Palm Springs Tennis Club is not responsible for valuables and other personal articles that are brought or left on the premises of the pool and spa. Members using the facility should not leave valuables and other personal articles on the premises unattended.
No food or beverages may be taken into the pool area unless purchased at Spencer's Restaurant.
Members or PSTC Resort guests are not permitted in the pool if they have a cold, cough, fever, infection of any kind, inflamed eye(s), skin rashes, or are wearing bandages.
Members with physical or neurological disabilities (or a responsible adult accompanying that adult) must advise the professional staff of such conditions.
For your own safety, please do not use the pool if you are alone.
Running, wrestling, pushing, dunking, roughhousing, or towel snapping are not permitted anywhere in the pool area, including the locker rooms.
Snorkels, fins, masks, kickboards, weights, children's pool toys, and inflatable devices are not permitted in the pool unless permission is obtained from the professional staff.
Gum chewing is not permitted anywhere in the pool or spa area.
Proper bathing suits are required. No thongs or Speedo's are permitted.
